MS Outlook application is a great application that helps people to manage and organize their personal or professional stuffs like mails, contacts, appointments, calendar, notes, journals etc. in a better manner. Just make some settings, synchronize your mail account and you are ready to go. But at times synching Hotmail account with Outlook via Outlook Hotmail Connector throws error messages like –
"Task ‘Hotmail’ reported error (0×80004005): ‘There is an error synchronizing your mail account. Please verify your account is configured correctly by first accessing your mail on the web. Error: 4350.’ "
This sync error 4350 sometimes also reports 4202 error which indicates an issue with synching Junk mail settings.
Cause
While syncing process Outlook Hotmail Connector also syncs the Blocked and Safe Senders list and if the address list that it sends is malformed and if the same address exists in both the Blocked and Safe list then it reports error.
Solution
In order to fix this issue and error message, remove malformed or contradicting address from the Safe and Blocked list. If you are confused about which address is causing the issue then export the Blocked and Safe List again and remove all the addresses from the list. After you are done with this, you will no longer receive the Sync error while send/receive process occurs.
To access the Junk Email settings you need to follow these following steps –
In MS Outlook 2003 or 2007 – Tools > Options > Junk Email Options …
In MS Outlook 2010 – Select inbox or Junk E-mail folder on your hotmail account and choose Home > Junk > Junk E-mail Options.
